Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 July 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Ibn Ataa’illah Institute online platform, including its classes, recordings, workshops, and payment features (together, the “Services”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
Ibn Ataa’illah Institute (“the Institute”, “we”, “us”) is an Islamic educational institute based in Cape Town, South Africa, established in 2020. It offers guided classes, recorded lessons, and workshops through its educational wing, Dar al-Rahma. You can reach us at ibnataaillahinstitute@gmail.com.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account.
- You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
- One account is for one person. Please do not share your login or class access with others.
Tell us promptly at ibnataaillahinstitute@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
3. Our classes and content
- Monday Night Tafsir and the Tuesday Night Class are membership-based classes requiring a paid monthly membership.
- The Friday Jumu’ah Khutbah is open to everyone free of charge — no account, payment, or registration is required to watch it live or in the archive.
- Workshops are pre-recorded courses purchased individually.
- Live classes are recorded and added to your class archive for later viewing.
Qur’an text and translations are reproduced from established, verified sources and are not altered. Class content reflects the teaching of the Institute’s teachers and is provided for personal religious learning.
4. Membership fees and payments
- Membership fees are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) on the platform. Current fees: Monday only R350/month, Tuesday only R350/month, both classes R600/month. Fees may change; the amount shown at the time of payment applies.
- Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Yoco. We do not receive or store your full card details.
- Memberships are not billed automatically. Each month you choose to pay your fee; we may send you reminders when a payment is due.
- Access to a paid class depends on your membership being paid and up to date.
5. Workshops and donations
- Workshops are once-off purchases. Once purchased, you keep access to that workshop's video and materials on your account.
- Donations to the Institute are voluntary and, unless we state otherwise in writing, are non-refundable.
6. Refunds and cancellations
You may stop paying your monthly membership at any time; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. You can manage or change your plan from your dashboard.
Payments are non-refundable. Once a membership fee, workshop purchase, or donation has been paid, it is not refunded. Please make sure you have selected the right class or workshop before you pay. This does not affect any rights you may have under South African law that cannot be excluded.
7. How you may use the Services
When using the Services, you agree not to:
- Record, download, copy, re-share, or re-broadcast class videos, workshop content, or materials without our written permission.
- Share your account or class access with people who have not paid for it.
- Post unlawful, harmful, abusive, or disrespectful content, including in live-class questions.
- Attempt to disrupt, gain unauthorised access to, or interfere with the platform.
Class content is provided for your own personal learning. All content remains the property of the Institute or its teachers and may not be used commercially.
8. Live-class questions and conduct
During live classes you may submit written questions. Please keep them respectful and relevant. The teacher and authorised moderators may hide, dismiss, or remove questions, and may restrict a student who misuses this feature.
9. Availability
We work to keep the Services available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee they will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Live streams depend on internet connections and third-party services and may occasionally be delayed or unavailable. We may update, suspend, or change parts of the Services.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Institute is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Services. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under South African law that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Ending your access
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or misuse the Services. If your membership lapses, access to paid classes pauses until it is renewed.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be communicated where reasonable. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
